Cooking Inspired by Generations
Emma’s and Elsie’s background and interest in cooking and creativity mainly comes from their mother, a painter and art teacher. Their mother was born in Venezuela and moved to the Midwest later in her childhood. While their grandmother would have told you she wasn’t much of a cook they do have found memories making Hallacas with her around the holidays. Emma and Elsie also have a lot of influence from their great grandmother Lula. Being from Oklahoma she was all about the country cooking and church potlucks.
