Laundry room time! If you’ve been following on IG stories, you’ve seen that we’ve been working on some updates in here for the past few months. I am so excited to share the final outcome with you today!

But first … a walk down memory lane! You can see the before photos of our laundry room here.

I also just love how bright, fresh and CLEAN this room feels now. Since becoming a mom, I do a LOT more laundry (I always thought people were exaggerating in the past … they were not!) and I love doing it in our new fresh space.

My favorite thing about the new washer and dryer is that they are HUGE. When they first arrived, they were bigger than our previous pair and I was a little intimidated. But then I realized that Nova can’t reach the buttons (YESSSSSSS!) and it’s much easier on my back when swapping loads—like much easier.
I am definitely a fan!

I would definitely not ever put marble in a laundry room again (I am not sure I would use it at all for counters, to be honest). I know so many people love their marble countertops, maybe my family is just too rough or too messy, but they are not for us.
I am already LOVING the quartz so much more—it’s just so low maintenance! I went with pure white this time.
I decided to use the same faucet as my kitchen, actually, in champagne bronze. This was 100% for practical reasons. I use this sink for all kinds of things, but a lot of it is DIY, or soaking clothes to get stains out and the pull down faucet is just SO much more functional.

Another big change. So the stick on tile that we previously added to this room was good at first, but in just two years one of the sections of tile randomly turned yellow.
I’m not saying that all stick on tile would do this—I honestly still don’t understand why just one section changed color (it was right in the middle too) and the rest of it stayed white.
It’s always a bummer when you spend time and money on something and it doesn’t hold up! But when I had the chance to refresh this room to what I really wanted it to be, I jumped on it!
What’s crazy is that the shiplap costs only 1/3 of what the stick on tile cost! And it was easier to install. CRAZY.
I am very happy with the choice!

Fir Needle, Lavender, Eucalyptus, and Lemongrass, and top off with distilled water. I use this all the time (it’s basically a room freshener as well and you can use it on your sheets, too).

I love the colour of the door so please what colour did you use.
Hi! I know this is an old post, and maybe you won’t respond, but I have to ask – do you know the dimensions of your laundry room? And about how much clearance do you have between the sink and the machine across from it? I love the idea of the sink being directly across from the washer, but I don’t know if it will work in my space.
Where did you find white shelving?
Love this laundry room! I am currently looking for a good tutorial on how to build a simple laundry counter…I’d also love to know the paint color of the door in your laundry room. Looking forward to giving the room spray a try as well! Any recs on where to find a similar bottle?
Love your podcast! Thanks for all you do!
Where did you buy the glass with gold spray bottle?
laundry room made perfect!
Looks great! Inspirational for me for when we finally move to our new home and start updating. However, I was under the impression that the heat from a dryer rendered essential oils useless. I never had luck w/ my dryer balls leaving any sort of scent on my laundry when I tried essential oils (lavender or peppermint were what I used). If this works for you, do you just dry on a lower setting?
I know you have probably answered this 1000x but what paint color of white do you use? For walls and trim?
Hi Melissa! Marshmallow from Sherwin Williams
can you share the source for the hanging planters? also, if those are faux plants, the source for those, too! thanks.
Hi Danielle! The planters are from Wayfair and here’s a list of our favorite faux plants – https://abeautifulmess.com/2018/08/the-best-faux-plants-and-flowers.html 🙂

I love this! It’s so fresh and cheerful! I feel like laundry would be much less unpleasant in this space. I might have missed it but where are the wall hooks from? They’re so cute!
I live the colour scheme of this new room! It has since a nice and uplifting feel to it. I will definitely be storing it for inspo for future projects B x

Please be careful and keep your little one away from essential oils. They can be poisonous for children.
Love! Mind sharing where you sourced the hooks from!?
cb2 xx!
So beautiful!! i love these posts too. what shiplap did you use?tnx.xoxo.alex
We made our own! Same method as this- https://abeautifulmess.com/2016/02/so-you-want-to-diy-a-shiplap-wall.html 🙂
Love it! So fresh and bright! I used those stick on tiles in my laundry/powder room and while they haven’t yellowed, I wouldn’t use them again or recommend them. Mine are just in a tiny area behind a very small sink so it’s not a big deal and one day I’ll get around to replacing them with the real deal. 🙂 Thanks for sharing! I always love posts about your gorgeous home!
Did you notice the yellowed patch getting the most sun? My mom’s tiles did this in her kitchen because they were more exposed to sun. Also, you might need to watch your sink when winter comes! We had an unfortunate experience of frozen pipes last year.
I didn’t. It seemed really random to me, like maybe there was a flaw with just that block of tile.
