In reply to Meghan. Yes, it's the same. Brown sugar contains molasses so this changes it's flavor and color (of course) as well as it's liquid content. This doesn't make a big different in a simple syrup recipe.

In reply to Amber. Make sure the sugar fully dissolves in the water. I am not sure on marshmallow syrup. Sounds delicious! But I've never made it so I have no tips

Every time I make simple syrup, it’s solidifies. Any tips on keeping it liquidy? I’ve been experimenting with marshmallow syrup as well, and I just use the marshmallows as the sugar.

Love this recipe! Sometimes I like to use brown sugar instead,depending on what I have in the cupboard. The bottles you linked are SO PRETTY!
