This means your plant is stressed / imbalanced in some way. Here are three things I would check first. Is it under watered? Is it getting too much direct sunlight? Is it too dry (not humid) enough for the plant?

I like to talk with them as I maintain. I have also found that occasionally wiping off the leaves with room temperature water seems to help them stay healthy and perky. I try to give them a dusting off when I dust the rest of the house too.
